Uses / Advantages

Shipping Containers with open sides/top offer more suitable loading and unloading access for bulky items or granular cargo. Structurally speaking, open top (OT) containers have a removable roof and swing out door header making loading and unloading from above by a crane or feeder much easier. These types of bulk containers are usually transported via road or rail and are quite often used in the mining industry. Open top containers are also suitable for over height items such as machine parts.

Flat rack containers are a high load bearing floor with two end walls that are either collapsible or fixed. These end walls assist in securing cargo and act as corner posts for stacking other containers on top. Often used for bulky, over weight and over size items, the flat rack container has several lashing rings on the side rails to which cargo weighing up to 2 tonnes (20') or 4 tonnes (40') can be fastened.

Tank Containers provide a solution for the storage, temperature control and transport of bulk liquids, powders and gasses. Tank containers are typically available as 20 footers and come in a variety of specifications depending on the chemical stability of the powder, liquid or gas you are transporting. As a rule, tank containers should not be over-filled, to allow for gas expansion and should not be under-filled to avoid unbalancing motion during transport.
